Our Aims
The Network aims to:
- Encourage research and scholarship into literature, criticism and theory from the 1880s to the
present day - in both the UK and worldwide.
- Foster links and enhance co-operation between all those who are concerned with and interested in
the above, including creative practitioners, those in the scholarly and academic worlds, and all
other intellectuals.
- Facilitate publication opportunities for participants in events and
members of the UKNMFS, subject to normal peer review processes.
- Inform our members and affiliates regarding relevant issues and debates
via this website and the newsletter which is circulated by email.
- Help develop critical and pedagogic perspectives on contemporary fiction and theory.
- Aid research into relevant areas through the organization of seminars, conferences and symposia.
- Cooperate and collaborate with other like-minded organizations and
relevant insitutions.
- Promote the growth of both critical and creative culture, especially by encouraging postgraduates,
doctoral students, teachers and academics working in this field.
The aim of this website is to provide a point of contact for all those interested in The UK Network for
Modern Fiction Studies, publicise events and to act as a resource for those interested in the general field
as well as disseminating information about literary and critical studies more broadly.
